Followed the direction on this page. I'm running a newer lap top (HP dv7-6157nr) with an Intel and Radeon HD 6700M graphics. Machine runs really hot running every distribution of linux, runs cool on Windows 7. When I do a acpi -V I get the following:

# acpi -V
Battery 0: Unknown, 100%
Battery 0: design capacity 7600 mAh, last full capacity 7485 mAh = 98%
Adapter 0: on-line
Thermal 0: ok, 68.0 degrees C
Thermal 0: trip point 0 switches to mode critical at temperature 99.0 degrees C
Thermal 0: trip point 1 switches to mode hot at temperature 97.0 degrees C
Cooling 0: LCD 10 of 10
Cooling 1: LCD 10 of 10
Cooling 2: Processor 0 of 29
Cooling 3: Processor 0 of 29
Cooling 4: Processor 0 of 29
Cooling 5: Processor 0 of 29
Cooling 6: Processor 0 of 29
Cooling 7: Processor 0 of 29
Cooling 8: Processor 0 of 29
Cooling 9: Processor 0 of 29

The cooling on LCD seems bad (10 of 10 sounds bad) So I wanted to see if the ATI drivers might make a difference, but I'm running into the following and need a little help.

[root@chromium ati]# cat fglrx-install.log
Uninstalling any previously installed drivers.
