Has anyone tried installing drivers from the restricted driver window with 9.10? I couldn't on 9.04 (4870x2) and ended up downloading ati drivers from amd's website and installing those separately. When i upgraded to 9.10 there was some sort of conflict and ubuntu ran as if it was Windows without display drivers. I wiped and installed 9.10 alone (no upgrade this time) and its MUCH smoother but i still havent activated drivers - is it safe to restricted window now, or should i use the old method?
