that. Its all a matter of prreeefnce. Passive has a brighter 3D image than active. Truth is 3D still has alot of advancement to make so either way you go there will be newer better models out every year. The plus is almost all 3DTVs 2D modes are very amazing whether you buy a passive or active. The 2D experience on this lg is amazing so that's what really matters.
