I've tried the new 8.5 driver without success. The default automatic install seems to complete without errors but when X is restarted it fails to load. The generation of F9 rpm package also fails.
I'm using a Acer laptop with AMD64 and ATI Mobility Radeon X700. My kernel version is 2.6.25.3.
